Omg of leggings/Yoga pants!
by JessicaTX on 8/2/2015
I am beyond in love with these pants! I have never had a pair of leggings fit as great and be comfortable all at the same time! They are the perfect length too. I am 5'6", 40 inch hips, 28 inch waist and I am in a small. When I first received them, I thought, no way my butt or thighs will fit in these! But, voilà, magic happened! I will definitely be buying another pair or two.
My go-to leggings

Sending a big thank you to Soybu and Backcountry.com for giving me the opportunity to test and review these leggings. I'm grateful to play a part in helping people learn about and choose gear.
Height: 5' 4.75"
Bust/waist/hips: 34", 26/27", 34"
Dress & Pant Size: 0/25
FIT: I got these in charcoal in size extra small, despite being a bit hesitant. Usually when any product says "slim" fit I get a size small, but these run a little larger considering they are slim fit. They fit me perfectly; they may look tiny when you first get them, but the fabric is so stretchy! The first time I put them on, I knew that the fit was perfect and I hadn't felt this kind of fit in a legging before. They run about a half of an inch long on me (i.e., a half an inch past where they run on the model in the picture), which was surprising, considering I'm on the shorter side at 5' 4.75". Usually pants run long on me, so it was great to have something better fit the length of my legs. Beware: they also make your derriere look amazing.
PERFORMANCE PROS: The performance of the fabric--in terms of its stretchiness--takes the cake: they are the stretchiest leggings I've ever worn, and they allow me to move in any position I want. I love climbing and doing yoga in these just for that matter.
PERFORMANCE CONS: The fabric could be a little more breathable, and I would love to see Soybu add some mesh panels in key positions (e.g., behind the knees) so that they're a little more variable for a variety of temperatures (like indoor climbing temperatures or for warmer, springtime trail runs). Also, the pocket in the front kind of seems to get in my way because of its thickness. I think a mesh panel would have been a better choice, and would have made it less visible through a shirt, too. It kind of sticks out if you're wearing a tight layer, which is why I like having a pocket in the back rather than the front of my leggings.
WASHING THESE LEGGINGS: Take care when washing these leggings. After a cold wash followed by a tumble-dry-low cycle, they came out looking smaller, but after wearing them for a couple minutes they went back to the original shape and elasticity. However, I would stick to line-drying them, as I've had the best results with doing so.
BOTTOM LINE: I LOVE these leggings, and have worn them probably a dozen times since I got them (a little more than a month ago) even though I have a few other pairs of leggings (now gathering dust). They stay put yet allow you to move however you wish. From hiking, to running, doing yoga, or climbing, these will have you covered. And not just covered, but looking really good.

thanks to Backcountry.com and Soybu, I got a chance to test these leggings recently as a member of Backcountry.com community. I’m a big fan of leggings, they are my favorite piece of active clothing, so I own quite a few pairs already. These leggings are now my new go-to pair for most of my activities.
My measurements are 27.5 in waist, 36 in hip, and 28 in inseam. I usually wear XS and they fit me wonderfully in that size. I have a bit extra at the bottom since regular length tends to be too long for me. But because these are leggings, it doesn’t really cause an issue.
The material thickness is medium and very elastic. They feel supportive yet not too tight. Charcoal color is pretty basic, would go well with any top. My favorite part about these leggings is Soybu’s attention to details. The stitching is flawless, barely noticeable and looks more like a thoughtful design than just stitching. There is a small pocket for keys or phone on the front right size, which is great for outdoor runs.
I’ve worn them while running and climbing and they performed wonderfully. They are pretty warm, so better for colder temperatures, but dry quickly and don’t make you feel cold after sweating. They look like casual leggings but perform fantastically during sweaty activities. Great to wear while traveling or around town.
I had never heard of Soybu before trying out these leggings and I have to say, they are pretty high on my radar now. Great company that designs functional, high quality, affordable, and great-looking products. I would definitely recommend their clothing to any of my friends.
